If you’ve never read Risen Magazine before, you are certainly missing out. I was so excited when I got a call from former professor/friend Dean Nelson at Point Loma Nazarene University about a story he was working on with Risen. He told me to meet him at a downtown hotel and that I would have only a few minutes to capture a few images of perhaps the biggest celebrity I’ve ever met, Davis Guggenheim. Anyone who watches TV or movies has seen his directing/production work (24, Alias, Deadwood, Training Day, NYPD Blue, An Inconvenient Truth and most recently, Waiting for Superman to name a few). We waited awhile and after the interview popped off a few shots and called it a day. Mr. Guggenheim was a true pleasure to shoot with and was so warm and friendly through the process. I love the somewhat urban look we got by shooting down on the street instead of staying upstairs at the swanky poolside cabanas…Hotel Palomar was beautiful!
