Being the fabulous and understanding boss that he is, Mr. Jared Bauman let me take 4 days off this month to attend a friend’s wedding and spend some time sight-seeing in New York City. New York in the summer is fabulous, but very warm. We had a lot of fun exploring new neighborhoods and, of course, eating our way through the city.
This was our first day in the city – Columbus Circle at the south end of Central Park.
A few friends of ours went with us to see the Tony-nominated Legally Blond – The Musical. It was a fun night and the music was great, but still nothing compared to my all-time favorite musical Wicked. 🙂
And finally, this was our 3rd course of dessert at this amazing place in the East Village called Chikalicious. Started by the former pastry chef at Gramercy Tavern, and her sommelier husband, all they serve is a 3 course dessert menu and optional wine pairings. If you are visiting New York anytime soon, or live near there, this place is definitely worth checking out.
Vacation is fun, but of course it’s always good to come home – just in time for the beginning of wedding season here in San Diego!
