Your pet’s portrait is often the image you will return to for years to come, so it should feel true to who they are, not staged or generic, but alive with the expressions and quirks that make them unmistakably themselves.
Our Pet Portraits are for devoted animal lovers throughout Southern California, from San Diego to Los Angeles and every community in between, and every animal is welcome in front of our lens, from the familiar to the wonderfully unexpected.
Your session with our team is unhurried and attentive. We take the time to learn your pet’s personality and habits beforehand, and we work at their pace, not the other way around, so that the resulting images feel honest and unforced. Sessions can take place in our San Diego studio, in the comfort of your own home, or on location at a favorite spot like Mission Trails, wherever your pet feels most like themselves.
We are skilled at reading an animal’s temperament and drawing out a range of expressions, from calm and dignified to playful and unguarded, because we know that a truly memorable portrait captures more than appearance. It captures character.
Studio sessions begin at $450, and on-location sessions begin at $600. Each session includes 5 retouched images, with additional pets welcome for $100 each. Learn more about our process and book your session with us below.

Local Studio
Your session can take place in our beautiful studio located in central San Diego, that comes with a 4,000 square foot shooting space. It’s big enough to fit any size pet!
On-Site Image Review
Have you ever just crossed your fingers that your photo shoot turned out? You won’t need to do that with us – we will review your images together throughout the session to be sure you adore them (and we’ll keep shooting if you don’t!).
Versatile Looks
Our studio offers you multiple backdrop options to help us find one that both meets what you’re looking for and makes your pet pop. We have everything from standard white, black, and grey to more colorful options to make sure we snap the perfect portrait!
Full Licensing
Your final selections are fully licensed for your use and will be delivered as high-resolution digital downloads. Your first image is included with your session, and you only purchase what you need beyond that.
Star Treatment for Owner & Pet
While your pet gets photographed, lounge in our green room & enjoy a complimentary tea, soda, or coffee– and maybe get your own hair & makeup done for a joint portrait 🙂

Every image you select will receive professional retouching by our in-house editing team, so you’ll always look your best. (See our post-production examples below!)
Our Proven Process
Curious about what it’s like to work with us for your pet photography? Below is our proven process that we use with our clients to ensure that your experience is seamless (and enjoyable!) from start to finish.
1. Create a Game Plan
First, we’ll hop on the phone together to talk about your individual goals for this session. When you arrive at your session, we’ll review everything & make sure there’s no other fun shots or ideas you may have found and want to try.
2. Capture Amazing Images
This is the fun part! We’ll capture sweet (and sassy) images of your pet together here in our professional studio located in central San Diego. Our goal is to capture your pet’s personality and make sure you end up with priceless memories for years to come.
3. Curate Together
After your session is complete, we will make your selections together. If we need to keep shooting to make any adjustments, we’ll definitely do that – and by the end of the session, you’ll walk away knowing you adore your new images!
4. Complete Post-Production
After your session, our in-house editing team will put the finishing touches on your images so they look their very best. Within a week (or less) of your session, your final high-resolution images will be posted in an online gallery.
5. Celebrate!
The grand finale: You will walk away with portraits that you absolutely LOVE and a beautiful new way to celebrate your pet. Hooray!
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you photograph animals other than dogs & cats?
Absolutely. Every animal is welcome in front of our lens, from rabbits and birds to reptiles and horses. If your pet has personality (and we know they do), we would love to photograph them.
Where do sessions take place?
We offer both studio and on-location sessions. You can choose our San Diego studio, the comfort of your own home, or a favorite outdoor spot like Mission Trails, wherever your pet feels most relaxed and like themselves.
What is included in my session?
Every session includes 5 retouched images. Studio sessions begin at $450, and on-location sessions begin at $600. If you would like to include more than one pet, additional pets are $100 each.
My pet gets nervous around new people or in new environments. Will that be a problem?
Not at all. We take a patient, unhurried approach and work at your pet’s pace rather than rushing them. Many of our favorite images come from those quieter, more genuine moments once a pet has settled in.
How long does a session take, and when will we receive our images?
Sessions typically last between 45 minutes and an hour, though timing can vary depending on your pet’s comfort level. Turnaround time for retouched images will be shared with you at booking, we want to make sure every photo meets our standards before it reaches you.
What if I can’t just choose five images?
If you want to select more images from your session, you may either choose to pre-purchase a collection of images OR select additional images with your photographer on-site at your session.
