For our 3rd week of Gourmet Mobil Food Truck Month we visited one of the most friendly family run business’s in San Diego! Two For The Road focuses on American Comfort food and man, was it tasty! Lisa and Roberto are a husband and wife team that have taken their dream and made it into a reality here in San Diego. Roberto, who grew up in Italy, went to culinary school and made his way out to San Diego, while Lisa, who has previously lived in Las Vegas has a background in the Travel Industry. Together they came up with the every changing menu of burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches and salads. A few of their specials include New England Lobster Rolls, Miami Mojito Chicken Sandwiches or Seattle Salmon Burgers.
We all tried something different off the menu this week. Jared had the Brooklyn Burger that was absolutely mouth watering, it was defiantly made for a large appetite as it was a burger with slices of fresh pastrami and melted swiss cheese on top! Bronson went with the Jumbo Hot Dog on a brioche bun that was loaded with all the fixin’s, which he loved! Eder had the Wing Burger with buffalo wing sauce and melted blue cheese over a bed of fries. He finished that off pretty quickly…Zimmer went for the classic All American Burger that was cooked to her delight and Josie tried the Captain Crunch Crab Cakes topped with spicy mayo! They also have unique and retro sodas and chips to match our menus that they ship in from the East Coast. We all were treated like family by Roberto, Lisa and their Son and would love to be back for another visit!
