This month is burger month at Bauman Photographers meaning we will be eating a lot of great burgers every Wednesday in September. We started our burger adventure at Crazee Burger in North Park, since it’s near our studio and we have heard great things about it.
Crazee Burger is a place that I have drove by many times and never really noticed. It is on 30th street between El Cajon Boulevard and University Avenue. For those of you not familiar with this area, you should really check it out. It is full of great bars and places to eat all up and down 30th street. It is such a popular place that Green Flash Brewing Company named a beer after the street, The 30th Street Pale Ale.
The restaurant has a dive bar feel to it, nothing glamorous about it. It is a walk up to the bar and order type of place. The menu is very interesting with all the different burger combinations on it, including buffalo, alligator, ostrich and antelope. They also offer daily lunch specials with different styles of burgers every day.
We had different burgers on the menu, the SANTORINI Burger, ½ Beef, ½ Lamb with Greek Tsatsiki Sauce, the Hamburger CROATIA w. roasted red Bell Pepper & Garlic Pesto, the Don’t mess with TEXAS Burger with Bacon and Hickory smoked Barbecue Sauce, and of course the Racing ANTELOPE Burger with smoked Chili Sauce.
The service was great, the burgers all came out at the same time and they did not take very long to cook everything. The burgers where a good size and they had a good amount of meat, cheese and the other ingredients. The fries also came in good portions and the seasoning on them was a nice touch.
While everything tasted good, it did not get rave reviews from our team. It received an average of 3.5 stars out of 5. I think that it’s a place that I will personally return to in the future, specially to taste all the exotic burger meats.
The holidays are for celebrating! And here at Bauman Photographers, we celebrate the holidays the San Diego way: with Mexican food, non-stop...
