Working with Attorney Journal: Headshot Photography for Inspiring Professionals
For almost a decade, we’ve had the honor of partnering with Attorney Journal magazine to capture their cover photo and signature features. One of the privileges of working alongside the Attorney Journal is that we get to capture so many strong, intelligent, interesting, and INCREDIBLE people– and that’s certainly the case for this cover!
For this session, we worked with Kelly Bagla; an attorney who focuses in Real Estate and Business law, who was dubbed the “Queen of Business law” by her clients both domestic and abroad, and her colleagues. During this shoot, we were lucky enough to get to know her personality and hear about the incredible things that she’s done throughout her career.
Why Attorney Journal Chooses Bauman Photographers for Headshot Photography
For this photoshoot, we made sure that Kelly felt comfortable in her own skin; one of the things that we offer all our clients coming from the Attorney Journal for their headshot is the ability to shoot either in studio, or at a location where they feel most comfortable– whether it’s their office, a nearby outdoor space, or elsewhere.
During this shoot, we made sure to let Kelly take a look at the headshots we had shot throughout the process so she could adjust her poses, angles, and let us know exactly what she liked about each photo. We like to keep an open channel of communication throughout our photoshoots so our clients are both comfortable on camera, and end up with headshot photography that they really like!
After our photoshoot, we work with our clients to make them look the best they can through basic editing and retouching. Whether it’s removing wrinkles in your shirt, stray hairs, or under eye circles, we make sure to retouch these so you’re left with a photo where you look your best. For Kelly, we smoothed out a few wrinkles from her clothing and fixed the soles of her shoes, making them as glossy as they were the first time she wore them!
Our clients love the small details that we notice and fix, as we never overtly change how they look, but improve the small details that they wish they could have caught or fixed prior to their photoshoot. This was proven after the process when Kelly elected to purchase several of her own photos to use for her website and other media, as well as purchasing a plaque to commemorate her article. Whenever our clients, especially those who get their photo taken by us for magazines and other organizations, choose to purchase extra photos from us, it makes us incredibly happy because it means that we were able to do our job successfully.
Working with Kelly past Headshot Photography
After starting her own firm, Kelly wrote her own book to help other lawyers who were interested in leaving their big-name law firms start their own firm, “Go Legal Yourself.” If you’re looking to step out of your comfort zone to start your own firm, we recommend checking out “Go Legal Yourself”; if you’re interested in legal advice for your business or new house, we recommend reaching out to Kelly herself to find out how she can help you advance!
