Creating a First Impression with Professional Headshots
With his experience in using his expertise in hotel investing for the Momento Investment Group & client relations, Jaydon Robinson knew that first impressions can make or break a relationship– and so when he chose to launch a podcast and social media presence, he knew that one of the first things he wanted to invest in was a headshot that conveyed reliability, approachability, & experience. Referred to Bauman Photographers by his friend and our client Jake Rosenthal, he came with a clear vision as to what he needed for his professional headshots to build his brand.
The Setup: Versatile Studio and Environmental Professional Headshots
Coming into the session, Jaydon knew that he wanted a mix of environmental shots that made him seem trustworthy & relatable, contrasting against a handful of classic, clean-cut images against a solid backdrop. This blend aimed to showcase his versatility, but also provide him with headshots that fit the needs of the social media platforms that he planned to venture into. Throughout Jaydon’s session, we chose to take advantage of all of the different spaces here at Skylight Studios:
- White Cyclorama Wall: For the classic & more standard professional headshots that you would find on Linked In or used for professional speaking engagements, we used our white cyclorama wall. This clean and simple backdrop allowed Jaydon’s personality and professionalism to shine through without any distractions.
- Grey Cyclorama Wall: To add a touch of traditional sophistication while maintaining a classic clean cut image, we also photographed Jaydon against our grey cyclorama wall. This backdrop provided a subtle contrast that highlighted Jaydon’s features and added depth to the images.
- Lobby and Outdoors: For the more relaxed & natural shots, we moved the session to our lobby and outdoor areas. Using natural light and a more casual, approachable background, we were able to capture Jaydon in a natural, everyday context that would appeal to more casual platforms such as Instagram & TikTok.
Capturing the Essence of Jaydon Robinson
Throughout the session, we focused on capturing a variety of expressions and poses that would reflect Jaydon’s confident personality. Whether standing confidently against the cyclorama walls or engaging naturally in the lobby and outdoor spaces, Jaydon’s ease in front of the camera was evident, making this an easy session for us! At the end of the session, Jaydon was able to go through his images and select his favorites for retouching, letting him walk away with professional headshots for every occasion & platform!
