L’Auberge Wedding :: Del Mar, CA

Weddings at L’Auberge are always refreshing and elegant, and Jaclyn and Adam’s big day was especially gorgeous. With crisp whites and sandy grays, their colors were picture-perfect for a summer wedding by the sea. Jaclyn and her girls looked stunning, of course, and we love how the white floral embroidery was reflected beautifully in Jennifer Cole’s floral designs. Adam and his guys looked so cool, and we love the combo of suits with classy-yet-casual touches like awesome sneakers.

This year, I was able to achieve one of my grandest dreams…To star on Wipeout!!!
It was a long process between driving to Burbank for my audition, back again for a physical, once more to drop off signed papers and finally for the filming in Santa Clarita!! However, as those who have seen the episode know, it was all totally worth it.
The Question people have asked most often is: “did it hurt as much as it looked like?” The short answer is..yes! Haha! But I recovered pretty quickly.

Bauman Lunch :: Meatballs, America, and More!

There are few things more American than meatballs, mac n’ cheese, and ice-cold soda — so we wanted to get into the patriotic spirit and savor some of the most delicious food North Park has to offer! We loved Soda and Swine‘s bold and satisfying flavors,  cozy atmosphere, and of course the Polite Provisions right next door! We definitely recommend swinging by, grabbing some gourmet Brussels sprouts (we’re serious!), and enjoying “A’Murka.”

Paradise Point Wedding :: San Diego, CA

Pari & Sean’s beautiful wedding at Paradise Point was full of heartfelt warmth and delightful details designed by Carmin. Sean’s classic tux and bow tie was a perfect complement to Pari’s gorgeous, effortlessly elegant style. I love all the candid moments we captured of this cute couple, from their sweet Eskimo kiss during the First Look to their displays of epic cool on a boat. Our favorites moments, though, were the tears and laughs they shared during the toasts and dancing. Pari & Sean’s family and friends love these two so much, and so do we!

Birthday Bash at The Bristol Hotel :: San Diego, California

You only turn 91 once right? In the spirit of living life to the fullest, Irv had a grand celebration for his 91st birthday and treated his guests to an amazing night of fun, food and entertainment. The celebration featured a magician that walked around the room during the beginning of the event and did card tricks and other tricks where fire came out of his hat. There was also a photo booth provided by our team where guests where invited to get in front of the camera and take some fun candid photos. We even provided them with prints on the spot.

EFFEN Vodka held a really cool event in downtown San Diego where they hosted a cocktail making contest. The participants where put in to teams and asked to design cocktails based on the available ingredients. The catch was that you could not use any ingredient that other participants where using, of course except for EFFEN Vodka. There were lots of great drinks made that night.

San Diego Movember Gala :: Block No. 16

I can’t grow a mustache to save my life so an event like this is particularly impressive for me 🙂 This year’s San Diego Movember Gala was held at Block No.16 and was off the hook! Bauman Lunch :: Mediterranean Food

In the spirit of adventure we went with a type of restaurant that we had not tried before. We went to Haritna Mediterranean Restaurant that offers authentic traditional Arabian cuisine. This place is on one of those places that you have to go there on purpose. I don’t think it would have been a place I would have randomly stopped at. It is located on El Cajon Boulevard just outside of the San Diego City boundary where it turns in to La Mesa.

Hornblower Wedding :: San Diego, CA

Having a wedding on the San Diego Bay is a great choice…unless you get sea sick easily. In that case I don’t recommend it. But for most people it’s a great way to get married. There is constant changing decor and entertainment as the boat moves through the bay and provides constantly changing views.

Bauman Lunch :: Ramen and Tsukemen

This week’s Bauman Lunch outing took us in a different direction. We went north to Kearny Mesa to try one of the many awesome Asian restaurants in the area. We went to Rakiraki, a place for premium ramen. The restaurant has a very modern vibe with sleek wood, metal work, and industrial looking light bulbs that are all the rage in San Diego right now. The lighting in the restaurant was excellent, the big windows were great for window light portraits. Some of us were new to the  ramen experience and didn’t know what to order but luckily we had a patient waitress who pointed us in the right direction of what was what on the menu. One intern in particular needed a little extra help in the chopstick department…. (we won’t name names). It was a little chopstick buddy that helped and allowed her to get the full ramen experience.

Rancho Bernardo Courtyard Wedding :: San Diego, CA

Corie and Andrew are such a cool couple! I was very excited when they chose me to photograph their wedding. You might remember them from their engagement session where they brought their dog along for a few fun photos.

Their wedding was at the Rancho Bernardo Courtyard. This venue is an awesome venue in the summer time for a late afternoon ceremony and evening reception. The courtyard is warm in the daytime, but begins to cool of nicely as the sun sets and balances well with a party’s atmosphere as people get moving on the dance floor. It’s a great environment for wedding guests. This venue is also great because they allow you to bring in different catering companies, so if you feel like having something different than your standard wedding venue food, you absolutely can!! Corie and Andrew opted for a company that served some delicious Mexican food. They also had one of their friends make some desserts that were amazing.

Cliffside Wedding Proposal :: San Diego, CA

Have I mentioned that I love photographing proposals? This one in particular was so much fun because the secret had to go beyond the actual proposal. The plan was to propose, get photos taken during the proposal, not let her know that photos were being taken, and then surprise her with a huge print on the wedding day. How fun is that?

Bauman Lunch :: Neighborhood Cafe

What an exciting lunch!! This week we had so many people that were able to hang out. We had the veteran crew, our interns and even our new team members, Jeff and Erin, along. We went to Cafe 21 on Adams and had a great time taking portraits.

The walls inside of the restaurant made for some cool backgrounds and since it was a slow day we had an empty table to climb on top of for photos. Bronson might have got a little carried with his break dancing moves on top of the table.

Hornblower Renown Wedding :: San Diego, CA

Since Rebecca and Justin were expecting almost all of their guests from  out of town, they made the perfect decision to host their guests in a way that would show them San Diego in all its glory – on a Hornblower Cruise! The Renown was perfect for the size of their group. After a few photos in a couple spots downtown that I had been wanting to shoot for awhile, we boarded and headed out for an intimate ceremony and one of the best sunsets all year!

Coronado Marriott Wedding :: San Diego, CA

When Rebecca and Garrett came in to our studio to meet with me about their wedding, I was crossing my fingers that we would get to work together. Brilliant, Beautiful, Charming…they are all these things.

We shoot at the Coronado Marriott quite often, and it is always a pleasure. They took advantage of the really impressive ballroom and turned it into one of the best decorated events I’ve seen in awhile! From the pink highlights to the “Coronado” themed cookies, it was gorgeous.
Oh yeah, and then they (and their friends) WORKED it on the dance floor. Tons of fun.

Bauman Lunch :: Seafood

I have decided that this restaurant is very smart. What a smart name.”world famous” who wouldn’t want to go there? World famous what? EVERYTHING man. We realized on our way to the restaurant, that in many years of Bauman Lunches, we had never been to a beachfront restaurant!!! Crazy.

I think everyone was pretty happy with the views, the food, and of course, each other 🙂
Eder went the craziest with a Cioppino, Blair went lobster crazy with a lobster taco and some lobster bisque, Lynette and Jared played it safe with fish tacos and I (Bronson) also went safe with some great Fish & Chips.
The nice thing about being a photographer, eating on the boardwalk is that there is no shortage of fun stuff to watch while you eat. Beachgoers, kite flyers, weird old men doing Tai Chi on rollerblades, All outside your window.

But seriously, it’s a taco shop that is luchador themed. There is masks and all kinds of memorabilia from the great luchadors all over the restaurant. The place is full of awesome colors, patterns and of course a bunch of dudes in masks and no shirts.

Check out all of the awesome photos from our photography team.
