Event Photography for Academic Lectures
Held every year in February, Point Loma Nazarene University welcomes a diverse group of esteemed writers to their campus for their Writer’s Symposium by the Sea to discuss their writing and processes. We were excited to return once again to provide photography for this event as the University welcomed William Finnegan, Anthony Doerr, Maria Hinojosa, and N. Scott Momaday for their 28th annual Writer’s Symposium by the Sea to inspire the audience.
Crafting An Event Photography Plan for Point Loma Nazarene University
For this process, we worked with Point Loma Nazarene University to craft an event photography plan that would capture not only the lectures, but the opportunities that were offered by the University in between. Using a style similar to that we use for lectures at our corporate conference, we captured the speakers as well as the crowd throughout the three days the conference was held. By capturing both during the lectures, our event photography was able to capture not only the esteemed lecturers, but also the way they engaged and enthused the crowds watching them.
In between events and lectures, we were able to show the opportunities that attendees were offered, and the personal touches that Point Loma Nazarene University chose to include. From book stalls offering the books of the lecturers before and after their discussions to one on one interactions between the lecturers and attendees as they were able to ask questions and continue their learning, we captured all that Point Loma Nazarene University offered to enrich the event attendees.
