Launching a New Product: Lifestyle and E-Commerce Photography
With tech and AI developing quickly, companies such as Huupe have taken large steps to revolutionize the way we look at objects, by asking themselves “how can we take this one step further and improve things?” And they did just that with their innovative new miniature version of their electronic basketball hoop, the Huupe Mini. With a goal of bringing family together & letting friends play a game of HORSE or two while across the country from one another, they knew they needed bright & modern lifestyle and e-commerce photography to match their exciting new product.
Studio E-commerce Photography Shoot: Bringing the Prototype to Life
Throughout our first few discussions with the huupe team, they knew that now that they were close to launching that the first step would be fresh & bright e-commerce photography that matched the branding of their earlier products, the huupe classic & huupe PRO. Welcoming members of their team to the studio, we got to work; creating a way to stably move around the product on two c-stands to get every angle that we needed, and chatting with them about the changes they were implementing to the final product that we could rectify in post.
This shoot involved meticulous attention to detail, as we aimed to highlight its sleek design and innovative features that set it apart in the market, while also making sure that we noted specific edits that we would need to work on for the images from their lifestyle and e-commerce photography sessions. Notably, the final product would have a variety of games to choose from, as well as branding & final details like buttons that we would need to add on.
Post-Production Magic: After capturing the hoop in its pristine form, our post-production process was crucial. We meticulously composited different screens onto the hoop, showing the variety of options that the product offered, as well as its interactive LED feedback that responds dynamically to each shot taken. Once complete, we edited details such as the sensors, and used tools to create a model of the button they would be adding to the final product, giving the prototype the final polished look, and aligning it with the vision for the final product launch.
Lifestyle Product Photography: Bringing the Product to Life
In order to show the way the product could be enjoyed not only alone but alongside family & friends, the Huupe team reached out to schedule a lifestyle session. Working with us, our lifestyle and e-commerce product photography processes start similarly; we begin all product sessions by talking about the vision you have for your product. Knowing that Huupe wanted a fresh modern look, we were able to ask the types of places they’d want to feature the product, from bedrooms to man caves to just simply in the family room, mounted on the wall. From there, we were able to source a location that matched all of their needs– and then came the shoot itself!
Vision and Collaboration: Working closely with the huupe team, we focused on creating authentic moments of interaction. From kids cheering over a successful shot to adults playfully competing to setting up the product in the home, each image was carefully composed to highlight the Huupe Electronic Basketball Hoop as not just a product, but a way to connect with family and friends. We were able to easily capture the joy and laughter throughout the shoot– especially as we were photographing such a fun product!
Bringing It All Together: The Huupe Experience
The culmination of our efforts were bright & bold images that painted a picture of the ways that huupe mini could be enjoyed. Through conversations building the vision for their sessions, working alongside them to capture state of the art & bold lifestyle and product photography and thoughtful post-production, we were able to not only match what they had, but tell the huupe mini own unique story, from the precision of the e-commerce studio shots to the lively scenes of the lifestyle session.
