Phew, I got back late last night from an all day trip to LA. Pictage hosted a lunch at Il Fornaio for some of their photographers, and I was able to make the trip up and combine it with a few other things. Pictage has some of the most amazing photographers as a part of their team, and its so fun and informative to learn from them. I got to sit next to Joe Buissink (on the left), one of the photographers I grew up idolizing. He has been an icon in the wedding photography community for many years, and was voted Top 5 Wedding Photographer by BBC! What made it better was learning that I’ll be speaking with Joe at the Pictage booth in WPPI on Wednesday at 11am!
After lunch, I made my way up to Westwood to visit my sister Julie at UCLA. I haven’t been up to see her in quite awhile (I know, I’m a bad brother . . . ). Those of you who have been around for awhile might remember her from when she worked here at Bauman Photographers for a summer! We grabbed dinner at BJ’s. I love the streets of Westwood right off UCLA – its one of the few “college town” atmosphere’s in Southern California. I certainly didn’t have any of that at my school!
Thanks to Scott Anderson for the picture above! Scott will be second shooting with me later next month at Nicole and Bill’s wedding 🙂
