This week’s Bauman Lunch outing took us in a different direction. We went north to Kearny Mesa to try one of the many awesome Asian restaurants in the area. We went to Rakiraki, a place for premium ramen. The restaurant has a very modern vibe with sleek wood, metal work, and industrial looking light bulbs that are all the rage in San Diego right now. The lighting in the restaurant was excellent, the big windows were great for window light portraits. Some of us were new to the  ramen experience and didn’t know what to order but luckily we had a patient waitress who pointed us in the right direction of what was what on the menu. One intern in particular needed a little extra help in the chopstick department…. (we won’t name names). It was a little chopstick buddy that helped and allowed her to get the full ramen experience.
For the most part everyone ordered a similar version of ramen, the only difference being the level of spice. Everyone agreed it was a great spot for a light lunch. We especially enjoyed the fried chicken appetizer with the different sauces. And the creperie next door provided a delicious dessert with their signature whipped cream and various fruit/sauce options.
