What is Composite Product Photography?
Using Composite Product Photography is a great way to create advertisements for your e-commerce store, and banner images, and to show all color variations of your product in one photograph. Coming in many shapes and forms, we’re happy to work alongside you to create the perfect composited images and discuss what options you have to upgrade your product photography!
If you’re interested in compositing a single image onto a backdrop, we’re happy to walk you through this process! Beginning once you select your favorite photos– and the one that you’d like to composite onto a colorful background or photograph– you’ll let us know what you’d like us to composite your image on.
From there, we’ll begin with clipping paths of your image, creating an image of your product with no background. Once we’ve finished the clipping paths, we’ll start looking for the perfect background for your image, and licensing it for you if necessary to assure you’ll be able to use it for whatever needs you want! After you pick the image, we’ll place the pathed file onto the chosen background, and add depth and shadows to make your composite product photography look its best!
How our Clients Use Composite Product Photography
A great example of this is seen with Drop Not; a handy golf tool that never lets you leave your headcover behind on the course. When Drop Not came in, they wanted e-commerce photography that could be used both as advertisements and on their websites– and we were happy to work with them to create custom images by using composite product photography! We started off with an in-studio photography session with the owner and his team; once they chose their favorites from our session, we searched for the perfect golf-course imagery to composite their photography onto. Once they approved the background, we created the perfect composited images and created imagery that is used today in their advertising, e-commerce, and more!
We can also composite multiple e-commerce images together to show off the variety of colors or products that you offer! We’ve worked with clients such as Ring Thing to composite photos of single products, and put them together to create a display of their product offerings, showing off the differences between the models and variations. As we’re able to pull from previous sessions with our clients, this is a great option if certain stock is delayed and you don’t want to fully postpone your e-commerce photography session with Bauman Photographers.
